The GoPro HERO 12 is a high-end action cam packed with fantastic features. Capture 5.3K videos or 27MP photos during treasured family moments or take it along during outdoor (travel) activities. Thanks to its small size, but sturdy and waterproof design, there is no place it cannot go. It is waterproof up to 10 metres and even if you accidentally drop it, it won’t break easily.
You can go in many directions when it comes to video with the HERO 12. The action cam records in 5.3K at 60p and 120p slow motion is still in razor-sharp 4K. You can record up to 8x slow motion with the HERO 12. The new HDR video option provides great picture quality with more detail in the shadows. Take great shots during the day as well as at night. Thanks to Night Effects Enhancement, star trails, light painting, light trails and timelapses are among the many possibilities. Ten-bit and log encoding give your videos a cinematic look in the process.
You don’t have to worry about battery life while shooting. Its capacity has been significantly improved over its predecessor, the HERO 11. It lasts 2x longer at 5.3K/60p. This means you can shoot for 70 minutes on one battery.
if you want to save an image from your videos, you can capture up to 24.7MP photos. The HERO 12 has an 8:7 ratio which provides a large field of view and gives you the flexibility to shoot horizontal and vertical images. Crop to the desired size directly from your GoPro. Will you go for 4:3, 1:1, 16:9 or 9:16? You now also have the option to frame your images vertically. And for those who want even more reach: the Enhanced Max Lens Mod 2.0 that is available seperately creates an even wider image with deeper contrast. You can edit your videos and photos using the Quick app and can easily switch between your camera, smartphone and Mac (autumn 2023) or Windows PC (spring 2024).
The HERO 12 is extremely easy to operate, and thanks to the enhanced image stabilisation HyperSmooth 6.0, you film as easily holding the camera in your hand as you do with a gimbal. If you want to keep your hands free while filming, the integrated 1/4-20 mount makes it easy to put it on a tripod or attach it to one of the many GoPro mount accessories. The HERO 12 is equipped with multiple Bluetooth connections, so you can use different accessories side by side. Another new feature is the wireless mic support that now allows you to record audio from an external device. In addition, you can use voice control via your AirPods, for example. This makes it very easy to control your GoPro from a distance as well as improving audio quality. If you go out with several GoPros, connect them easily via Timecode sync. Scanning a QR code gives the different action cams a time code, very handy for synchronising the GoPro’s later in post-production.
